This watch is perhaps of the most interesting Chronographs that Omega has released, it served to commemorate the 125th Anniversary of Omega’s founding and was the first Chronometer rated Chronograph made.
According to records kept at the Omega factory in Bienne, only 2000 pieces of the Speedmaster 125, officially the ref ST378-0801, were manufactured and released.
The watch is massive by any standards and is actually a double cased watch with an inner case section housing the movement and crystal with an outer protective shell. The watch has been detailed by a craftsman that was an Omega service representative for many years and it is beautiful.
The Chronometer rated Omega calibre 1041 was also serviced and is keeping excellent time, which one would expect from a movement designed to keep Chronometer time and is adjusted to 5 positions and temperature.
The crystal and bracelet are new factory replacements however the dial is all original and does have some minor patina and marks on it, nothing serious but to be expected from a 30 year old watch. Feel free to email for a higher resolution scan.
The has attracted a following around the world and is a significant piece of Omega history for any collector.
The watch measures 42mm wide by 51mm long and is supplied with a brand new full length replacement bracelet.
