Vintage Patek Philippe pocket watch with box and papers circa 1918
Short Description:
Rae and complete package of an heirloom timepiece. This vintage Patek Philippe dates to 1918 and comes with the original box and certificate from the factory.
Long Description:
A complete package for any true collector of Patek Philippe watches.
This vintage Patek Philippe pocket watch is about as complete a package as you will find on the market today. The watch comes complete with the original box, certificate of origin and even a spare original crystal and mainspring from the factory.
This appears to be a custom production for Louis Hainz a jeweller in Prague during 1918. The watch was crafted in 14 karat gold as reflected in the original Certificate provided with the watch. It clearly shows the movement number, case metal and movement size in the description.
There is also a factory commendation inside the watch showing that the watch was made exclusively for Louis Heinz in Prague. This is very unusual and not anything I have seen before.
The watch is in unworn condition and has no wear to any part of it. The dial is fully signed Patek Philippe Geneve and is totally original with an undamaged porcelain surface with black Breguet style numerals for hour markers.
The 18-20 ligne movement has not been touched since leaving the factory and is in stellar condition. Please note the extra mainspring and original crystal provided with the watch when it was shipped from the factory are still hidden beneath the watch seat in the box.
Even the box for the watch is marked Louis Hainz, but look closely at the underside of the box and you will see the Patek seal and name, as well as the movement number of the watch, thus indicating that the box was actually shipped from Patek with the jewellers name on it.
The watch measures 50.5 mm around and is 9.5 mm thick. A rare opportunity to acquire a complete package such as this in as fine a conditon.
