Long Description:
A vintage Rolex Bubbleback automatic Chronometer dating to 1947.

This antique timepiece is fitted with a rare and all original dial that features luminous Arabic numerals. The dial is also rare in the fact it contains the highly sought after curved self winding script as well as the original Mercedes hand set, makes it a rare model indeed.

There is some aging on the dial but not enough to detract from the beauty of this wonderful original dial. The watch is a reference 2940 and carries a personal inscription showing it was most likely a Christmas gift on December 25, 1947.

The watch is fitted with an automatic self-winding Chronometer grade Rolex caliber 630 perpetual movement. The watch was just serviced and is keeping excellent time.

The original Rolex Oyster patent crown still screws down to the threaded case tube.

The all steel case measures 32 mm wide by 39 mm long and can be supplied on a black or brown leather strap.
