The lustre of a gold Rolex Oyster with the affordability of a gold filled model. That was always the selling point of these gold-filled Oyster watches.
This lovely Rolex Oysterdate can be dated to 1956 based on its serial number in the 400,000 range. It features many of the trademark sign of a mid fifties Rolex such as the pointed dauphine hands and the alternating red and black painted date wheel.
The watch is fitted with a freshly service and glistening Rolex manual wind calibre 1215 movement. This watch was developed as the date model of the famed 17 jewel 10 1/2 Hunter manual wind movements used by soldiers during World War 2. The movements are extremely durable and have a reputation for accuracy.
The case has been detailed and re-plated to look like new. The all original dial features gold stick markers and the aforementioned dauphine hands.
The case measures 34.5 mm wide by 42 mm long and will be supplied on the buyers choice of black or brown leather straps.
