A great example of an oversized stainless steel dress watch from IWC, the International Watch Company.
Many of these dress watches made during this period tended to be a bit smaller than current watches. This model measures an impressive 36 mm across, which is the same size as a current Rolex Datejust.
The watch is fitted with the legendary IWC caliber 83 sub seconds movement which my watchmaker recently serviced and commented that it was a pleasure to work on this movement. The older IWC movements are some of the most highly regarded watch movements amongst watchmakers themselves. This particular movement was used in the famed IWC MK 10 pilots watch.
The dial has the most unusual colour, which I can best describe as light bronze, which is contrasted by the gold Arabic numerals and gold leaf hands.
The stainless steel case features the offset spider style lugs with a thicker than normal profile. The watch measures 36mm wide by 43mm long and is supplied on a brand new leather dress strap.
