This Patek Philippe Jumbo Aquanaut caused a stir amongst watch collectors when it was first introduced. Patek was never really known for sports watches until the Aquanaut and Nautilus were introduced.
The fact is was considered large or jumbo sized when introduced made it even more appealing for everyday wear.
The all stainless steel case is unpolished and has no dings or appreciable marks on it, The watch is fitted to the original stainless steel bracelet which has some light brush marks from light wear. I have opted to leave the entire watch unpolished as these marks would only re-appear on the bracelet as soon as the watch was worn again.
The watch is fitted with the Patek Philippe automatic 30 jewels calibre 315-SC movement, which is powered by a large 21 karat solid gold rotor. The additional mass of gold ensures the efficient operation of the automatic winding system on this movement.
The watch dates to 1999 but was rarely worn and comes with the additional rubber tropical strap and the retail box with completed warranty and papers.
The case measures 38.1 MM wide and the bracelet is currently sized to fit a 7.5 inch wrist comfortably.
