This is an ultra clean re-edition of one of Heuer’s most famous models, the Heuer Monaco, Steve McQueen.
This model has gained iconic status due to the fact one similar was worn my Steve McQueen in a movie many years ago. Tag Heuer saw the popularity of the vintage models and decided to pay tribute to the original design with a re-edition using modern components and a slightly different design. The original models used a micro-rotor automatic movement called the calibre 12, that had the winding crown on the left hand side of the dial.
This modern watch uses an ETA 2894-2 automatic movement with a Chronograph module mounted on top, dubbed the TAG calibre 17, for the ultimate in reliability and accuracy. To honor the original design, the dial features a wonderful radiant blue dial with white registers and the date at 6 o’clock.
The case is in excellent condition and the acrylic crystal is free of any scratches or other marks.
The watch is supplied with the original box, tags and warranty papers dated in 2002.
This watch was just serviced by my watchmaker and is functioning perfectly.
The case measures 38 mm wide by 41 mm long and is supplied on the original Tag Heuer signed blue Croco strap with signed deployment buckle.
