This vintage Breitling Cosmonaute is one of the more novel members of the Navitimer family. Developed with space travel in mind, the Cosmonaute uses a full 24 hour time indication instead of a 12 hour display.
The watch was owned by a Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) pilot prior to being bought. This was his personal watch and not an issued piece.
The dial is in wonderful condition with the normal patina of the applied luminous and hands. The twin plane logo is correct for the period the watch was produced. The original slide rule aviation bezel is in great condition.
The watch is fitted with the manual wind 17 jewel Venus 178 chronograph movement which has been modified to rotate the hour hand once complete revolution every 24 hours.
The watch was just serviced by my watchmaker and functions flawlessly.
The stainless steel case has no dings or significant marks. The watch measures 41 mm in diameter and is fitted to a think padded Sport stitched 22 mm straps.
