A vintage Longines model from 1929. This model features an original white matte dial with raised gold toned markers and Longines name.
The large 14 karat gold-filled case is in very good unrestored condition with only minimal wear visible with a 10x loupe on the highest points of the case..
The back of the watch is marked Wadsworth as the watch was assembled in the United States as to avoid the bulk of import duties at the time. The inscription on the back of the watch reveals the original owner to be a doctor in the border area of Southern Ontario across the river from Detroit.
The Longines movement, calibre 9.47N, was just serviced and keeps excellent time. This is a larger sized casual dress watch with the most interesting stepped side profile and turned down lugs. The profile is very similar to the one found on most Rolex Prince models.
The watch measures 24mm wide by 38mm long and is supplied with an original Longines lizard 20mm wide model, the same width as the Rolex Prince models.
