This is one of the now sought after Tudor Chronographs known as the big block models. Looking at the watch it is clearly apparent why. The case on the watch is massive. Not only wide but at 14.5 mm it is substantially thicker than the later models.
Tudor watches are made by Rolex and many, such as this model, feature a Rolex Oyster case. This model is a chronograph and is fitted with screwed down pushers for added water resistance. The black dial is all original with silver sub registers and the original steel stick hands. The original Rolex signed heavy Oyster bracelet model 78360, is still fitted to the case. The watch was serviced by Rolex in 1999 and comes with all the service paperwork documenting that service. Prior to listing the watch for sale I had it serviced again by my Rolex trained watchmaker. The watch is fitted with a Rolex modified Valjoux 7750 movement. The watch functions flawlessly and is an excellent example of a highly sought after model. The Tudor chronographs have gained in popularity with the stratospheric rise in price of the Rolex Daytona models. This model was also sold as a Tudor Monte Carlo model. The steel case measures 40 mm across (excluding the crown).
